HP Envy 750-124
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to upgrade my video card. The layout inside the tower does not leave room for a larger internal video card card with multiple fans on it. I want to know what external enclosures and video cards might be compatible with my desktop. It is an HP Envy 750-124 with an ipm17-dd motherboard.

@hwteal , welcome to the Community.

Here is an article on External Video Cards (eGPU): https://techguided.com/best-external-graphics-cards/#:~:text=An%20eGPU%20(or,%20external%20GPU,%20or...

Your computer doesn't have a USBC-Thunderbolt port.  Therefore, you won't be able to use an eGPU with it.

Here is a HP Knowledge Base article that will tell you what to consider when upgrading your video card: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Knowledge-Base/Upgrade-Video-Card/ta-p/7481981

The two main things to consider are 1) the length of the card and 2) the wattage required to operate it properly.  You can use the instructions for measuring the space where the card will be installed.  I believe you can find a card that will fit.  It will be far better than your Integrated Video.  Here is an example of a card that I believe will fit: https://www.newegg.com/msi-geforce-gtx-1050-ti-gtx-1050-ti-4g-oc/p/N82E16814137056

Read the Customer Reviews to see what users have to say about it.  The power supply unit (PSU) in your computer is 300W.  This card will run without upgrading the PSU.  If you don't want to buy this card it will be a good example of what will work.
