Hi @ZL1TUT,
You have four DDR4-2400 memory sockets. Each memory socket can support up to one 8 GB memory module. Total memory support is 32 GBs.
It is best to use identical memory modules in pairs on dual channel systems when upgrading memory.
Memory modules in excess of 2400 MHz will default to 2400 MHz because your motherboard does not support XMP.
I would look at Crucial Memory for compatible memory upgrades.

Thanks for the advice.
Crucial website says the motherboard of this model supports 64GB contrary to 32GB you advised.

hi @ZL1TUT
yes
motherboard specifications, Tampa2
- Dual channel (2 DIMMs per channel) memory architecture
- Four DDR4 UDIMM (288-pin) sockets
- Supports PC4-21300 (DDR4-2666) and PC4-19200 (DDR4-2400)
- Supports 4 GB, 8 GB, and 16 GB DDR4 UDIMMs
- Supports up to 4 GB on 32-bit systems
note:
32-bit systems cannot address a full 4.0 GB of memory.
note:Maximum memory shown reflects the capability of the hardware and can be limited further in the operating system.
But in 90% of cases the 64 gb are useless
32 gb is more than comfortable for most uses

Hi @ZL1TUT,
Then you can do up to 16 GB memory modules in each socket.
I must have misread the memory specs or there is a typo at the HP support site. This is the HP Support site I checked. It has an error showing an 8 GB memory module upgrade limit.

No, it's not exactly a mistake here!
Just as one has for a document Intel Core i7-9700K (Coffee Lake R) 3.6 GHz, Octa Core
and not the other!
It's a story, rather of revision..
Hp gave an indication of the configurations released at a certain time
then, the models evolved, but hp, did not modify a page of characteristics, but added some
one Supports PC4-21300 (DDR4-2666) and PC4-19200 (DDR4-2400)

other

Processor upgrade information
- TDP: up to 95 W
- Socket type: LGA 1151
- Motherboard supports the following processor upgrades:ProcessorTDPIntegrated GraphicsIntel Core i7-8700K (Coffeelake) 3.7 GHz, Hexa Core95 WIntegrated HD Graphics 630Intel Core i7-8700 (Coffeelake) 3.7 GHz, Hexa Core65 WIntegrated HD Graphics 630Intel Core i5-8400 (Coffeelake) 2.8 GHz, Hexa Core65 WIntegrated HD Graphics 630

but hey, I admit, it's easier when you already know the product, and I know where and what to look/ search for this model

Hi @ZL1TUT,
HP needs to correct the memory upgrade specs at the PC support site since it disagrees with the memory upgrade specs at the motherboard site.
Crucial memory works very well in HP motherboards.

There is so much to correct, and it is all the more request made for it..
this is not the worst thing in the hp docs, looks to me like it just happens for this model so far
And yes, that's why I have always recommended this site, which has been taken over many times by others!
But it is not always 100% effective, but they undertake to reimburse in the event of a problem.
