I have a missing driver I cannot find for the PCI Serial Port. I believe this is stopping my PC from installing the latest feature update (that is what the log file seems to be saying), which means I may be missing security updates associated with the new version of Windows.
Motherboard: Hewlett-Packard 1494
PCI bus 0, device 22, function 3
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C3D&SUBSYS_1494103C&REV_04
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C3D&SUBSYS_1494103C
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C3D&CC_070002
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C3D&CC_0700
I have seen many posts with this issue, but the location for the fix is in multiple locations (ex. SP45367, SP69506). How would a person know which one to use?
Also, if one of these is the fix, is the file a repository of many drivers that can individually be installed or will this run a big driver update?

Hi:
You need this driver for that device. Manually install the driver if the auto install doesn't work.
This package contains the Intel Active Management Technology (AMT) Driver for supported models running a supported operating system.
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp69501-70000/sp69506.exe
Here is a partial copy and paste of the driver setup information file which shows driver support for the hardware ID you posted.
;----------------------------------------------------------
[Manufacturer]
%Intel%=Intel, NTamd64
[Intel.NTamd64]
%SRL_DeviceDesc% = ComPort, "PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C3D&CC_0700"
%SRL_DeviceDesc% = ComPort, "PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1D3D&CC_0700"
There are multiple versions of the driver, because there are multiple versions of the AMT hardware.

No.
Cancel out of the installation.
That driver actually installs two devices and you already must have the latest Intel management engine interface driver installed, and that driver will install an older version.
Go to the device manager, click on the PCI Serial Port needing the driver.
Click on the driver tab.
Click on Update Driver.
Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.
That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp69506.
Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.
Then restart the PC.
That way you still have the newer version of the Intel Management Engine Interface driver.
