Hi @DeSean1,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Paper Type and Quality:
- Ensure that you are using high-quality paper that is compatible with your printer.
- Verify that the paper is loaded correctly in the tray.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Check Paper Settings:
- On your laptop, go to the printing preferences for your HP OfficeJet Pro 8600.
- Ensure that the paper type is set to "Plain Paper" or the specific type of paper you are using.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. You can download the latest firmware from the HP support website.
- Install the firmware update and restart your printer.
Clean the Paper Feed Rollers:
- Open the printer and locate the paper feed rollers.
- Clean the rollers with a lint-free cloth slightly moistened with distilled water.
Run a Printer Diagnostic:
- On the printer control panel, navigate to the settings or tools menu.
- Select the option to run a diagnostic or cleaning cycle.
Check for Software Updates:
- Ensure that your printer drivers and software are up to date on your laptop. Visit the HP support website to download and install the latest drivers.
Try Printing from Another Device:
- Attempt to print from another laptop or device to see if the issue is isolated to your current laptop.
I hope this helps.
