Try removing the USB expansion card and then install it again in the same slot, and test again. If that does not help, try one of the other available PCIe slots.

 

If there is still no change with the issue, then it is probably the card itself that has the problem.  In that case, please use the following http://www.hp.com/contacthp, fill out the form, create a case for your issue and then use the provided information to contact HP.

I opened up the unit.  I didn't do anything other than press firmly on the board

and connectors.  After powering up (the panel is still off) both ports are working fine.

I've been running a demanding backup on a disk attached to the troubled port

all night, and so far it's been running without issue.

The 3 TB backup worked without issue.

Did some disk I/O transfer testing and I'm getting good performance from

all points.

 

Apparently wiggling & pressing the board resolved the issue.

Hello my hp15 has for over a week stopped discovering any connected devices through its USB ports, so to view or transfer files from my Android to the laptop or vice versa is impossible. While I can not access printers nor use a card reader
