Unable to boot with new graphics card

Yeah after reading your posts, I'm not gonna try. I'm already running bios 8.12 and it has secure-boot support, I'm not hesitant on buying the Evga gtx 750 ti SC now and if it doesn't work I'll just update it to 8.18

I am glad that you two found solutions to your problems and hopefully this thread will help others.

Yeah, anything above 8.0 should be able to boot UEFI hardware. So 8.12 should be good, 8.18 probably won't do a whole lot aside from some fixes here and there. I am running just a EVGA GTX 750 Superclocked (overclocked), and I can run plenty of games maxed out at 1080p with 60fps. Batman Arkham Origins I can run at 1080p with over 30fps with TXAA set to low and PhysX set to low with everything else on their highest settings. The Maxwell architecture is fantastic.

OP and snl25. Can you guys assist in my thread hunting down newer bios like you guys for my HP h9-1110t Phoenix gaming PC? I would like to upgrade to the 700 series as well.

Although it's not exactly germane to the original subject... I think you might be out of luck.  There's nothing on the HP website that indicates a newer version of the BIOS you are using.

Actually, the pic you posted from BiosAgent looks false.  The chipset shown in the window is Intel 100 rev 9, but the HP motherboard specs have the chipset of Intel H67.   The keywords, "Intel 100 Rev 9" show up nowhere on Intel's site.

I think that bios agent plus is not a very sound product.  Just googling the name yields bad reviews, such as where the site promises an update but never gives one, even after payment is made.

I hate to say it, but you may need to buy a new motherboard if you want to get a GPU that requires full UEFI BIOS.

Thanks. I was kinda affraid of that. I will ride this build out then with current setup and get a new build when Windows 9 hits. Unless my PC dies before that. I hope it wont.

I have looked everywhere as well. It seems HP only officially have released up to a 7.12 BIOS version. Newer cards require at least a version 8. You could try MSI's Gaming edition GTX cards. Their GTX 750 and 750 Ti Gaming Cards have a BIOS switch for Legacy and UEFI. I cannot guarantee that it will work with 100% certainty.



They say it has no compatibility issues in Legacy Mode.

I don't know how much you're willing to spend, in case it doesn't work you can get a Free Trial (30 Days) of Newegg Premier that allows free returns without any restocking fees.

And like I said, I am not entirely sure that the card will work. But based on MSI's wording it sounds like it would. I do not how many of their cards feature Hybrid BIOS.

Thanks. I looked at those MSI cards. They are nice. But, my evga superclocked gtx 660 is more powerful as it is compared to a 750 Ti. The plan was to give my sister the current card and get myself in a 760. She is rocking my old card that orginally came with my pc. GTX 550 Ti. Obviously this is not going to happen though. Since my mobo will not work with out a bios update for 700 series card.

Okay, no problem. Didn't know what card in the 700 series you were looking for. I don't of any other MSI cards that have Hybrid BIOS. Sucks that HP doesn't officially support their PC's after a little while making future upgrades impossible.

Sapphire has a R9 280x model with a dual BIOS that supports both UEFI and legacy mode.

I know this is old but I wanted to thank you snl25 for posting these links. For anyone having this issue updating the bios from these links worked for me on HP Pavillion p7-1235 with a jasmine msi ms-7778 motherboard.

Also a thank you to smnMagus0 for the headsup and for comenting on how u got it fixed.

I was trying to install a GTX 750 TI and could not do it untill I installed this motherboard update so thank you.
