HP EliteDesk 800 G3 mini

Hello, I have an HP EliteDesk 800 G3 mini with a 7th  core i5 7500 processor and I want to install a 8th grade core i3 8100 processor but the PC does not start, the BIOS is in the latest version. What can I do to use said eighth generation processor? greetings.

You're very welcome.

That doesn't mean much.

Lots of processors have the same socket and TDP.

The chipset and the BIOS also have to support the processor you want to install, and since the 800 G3 DM has the Intel Q270 Chipset, as you can see from the list of compatible processors, no 8th gen core processors are supported in the

Hi:

Unfortunately, only the Intel 7th generation core processors are supported in the 800 G3 DM model series.

You need an 800 G4 if you want an Intel 8th gen core processor.

I have an 800 G3 DM with the Intel i5-6500T processor, and I installed W11 on it, if that is why you wanted to upgrade the processor to an Intel 8th gen.

If you are interested in installing W11 on your PC as is, you can read this discussion for how I upgraded several HP and Dell notebook and desktop PC's that did not meet the W11 hardware requirements to W11 22H2.

You have to use the version of the Rufus utility that I zipped up and attached in the discussion (v3.18).

If the in-place upgrade fails, you should be able to clean install W11 using the bootable W11 installation flash drive you made with Rufus.
