In this post Upgrading ram on HP All in One 22-b013
The guy that answered the original posters question suggested, "You may want to consider maxing out the memory to 16 GB and be done with it."
My question is if the specs for this computer states that the Maximum amount is 8 GB than why would you want to install 16 GB of ram?

Hello.
Actually the equipment only supports at most 8 gb of ram and that is limited by the type of processor, so this equipment has the Intel® Pentium® J3710 processor so it does not support more than 8 gb of ram.

There is this i found.
Models with 6th generation Intel processors
The computer uses SODIMMs (small outline dual in-line
memory modules) that must meet the following
requirements:
● 204-pin
● DDR4-2133
● Unbuffered, non-ECC (64-bit)
● 1.2 V
● 16 GB maximum installable memory

The equipment has two slots, where in each one you must place a 4 gb PC3L-12800 (DDR3L-1600) ram memory.

hi
Here are the specs of the motherboard:
Molokai-U motherboard specifications.
Supports the Intel Celeron J3060 (Braswell-D) Dual Core processor and the Intel Pentium J3710 (Braswell-D) Quad Core processor only. The processor is not upgradeable.
- Dual channel memory architecture
- Two DDR3L SODIMM (204-pin) sockets
- Supports up to PC3L-12800 (DDR3L-1600)
- Supports 2 GB, 4 GB, and 8 GB DDR3L SODIMMs (Prost 19.5 chassis only)
- Supports 4 GB and 8 GB DDR3L SODIMMs (Prost 24 and Prost 21.5 chassis only)
- Supports up to 4 GB on 32-bit systems
note:
32-bit systems cannot address a full 4.0 GB of memory. - Supports up to 8 GB on 64-bit systems
what is supposed to be in place, so check
- Amount: 4 GB
- Speed: PC3L-12800 MB/s
- Type: DDR3L-1600
you must therefore either add an identical module, in order to increase to 8 gb
either buy two identical 4 gb modules
you can add 4gb module, but sometimes old and new don't work together
but from what is mentioned you could use a single 8 gb module
you have the choice
this can help to know what is in place
and this generally gives compatible modules
