Upgrading the GPU & need to know how many pins the existing PSU has, also if you have any suggestions for an 8gb graphics card that will work with my Nightfall Black Plastic + 310 W Gold efficiency power supply it will be appreciated?
IDK though it looks as if I have to replace the PSU as well my concerns are It’s a SFF (Small Form Factor) power supply, and HP's Cost in which I have no idea what that may be. Most aftermarket PSUs are way under $100.00 for 500W. I didn't purchase this system for gaming as I do not play video games. I was told by HP support while deciding on the build that I can do Photo Editing and some Video Editing, but this apparently is not true. The information on this system is somewhat hard to find referring to how many pins and what size it is, my Nightfall Black Plastic + 310 W Gold efficiency power supply and I cannot even find a picture of the PSU anywhere online. I thought I would have problems with this HP ENVY Desktop TE01-2250xt PC when I saw the case size, I still do not understand why HP would create and sell a small desktop PC the size and functionality makes no sense. The longevity is in question due to the lack of air flow as well, especially if used extensively. Please help as I am perplexed. Thank You...

Welcome to our HP community forum!
Your HP ENVY Desktop TE01-2250xt CTO (1K4F1AV) is either fitted with an Erica6 motherboard (SSID: 8906) or a Stark motherboard (SSID: 8860).
There is a 400-watt power supply upgrade available, with p/n: L69242-800, available via an eBay Seller around $61, and there is a compatible 500-watt power supply, with p/n: L05757-800, which is also available via an eBay Seller, around $82.
Here are some budget-conscious options: with a 400-watt power supply, you can power a smaller-sized (two fan) RTX 3050 8GB model, such as this one: MSI RTX 3050 VENTUS 2X Specs | TechPowerUp GPU Database, which can be purchased for under $200 via Amazon: Amazon.com: MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 3050 8GB GDRR6 128-Bit HDMI/DP PCIe 4 Torx Twin Fans Ampere OC Gr... and one of the best graphics cards you could pair with a 400-watt power supply would be a smaller-sized (two fan) RTX 4060 8GB model, such as this one: ASUS DUAL RTX 4060 V2 Specs | TechPowerUp GPU Database, which can be purchased under $300, such as via Amazon: Amazon.com: MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4060 8GB GDRR6 Extreme Clock: 2505 MHz 128-Bit HDMI/DP Nvlink TOR....

Thank You for your work and very informative reply. I was very apprehensive due to all in question.
I will not make the same mistakes on my next build. I had three HP systems and have been satisfied thus far.
Thanks, Much Love and Respect ✌️😎🤙

Hi NonSequitur777
I would like your opinion when you get the time, please. I see where HP offered alternatives as GPUs.
e.g.
Graphics
ALTERNATE OPTIONS
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1650 SUPER™ (4 GB GDDR6 dedicated)
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1660 Super (6 GB GDDR6 dedicated)
NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3060 (12 GB GDDR6 dedicated) with LHR, Display Connectors: HDMI*1, DP*3
My Motherboard is a Stark 8860 (U3E1) 58 °C, BTW
My question is Nvidia recommended a 550W PSU. Though HP only has an option of
500W PSU for the ENVY Desktop TE01-2250xt PC. So will the 500W PSU be efficient
to handle the power usage of the GeForce RTX 3060 12GB GPU at 1080p?
I was hoping to utilize the 12gb while 3D editing.
I know that the power consumption with the GeForce RTX 4060 8GB is 30% lower though I use Blender
and Davinci Resolve. I am trying to get by until my next build in which is a year and a half off into the future. I will also be changing out the 16gb Ram to 32gb all that being said what is your thoughts on everything?
GeForce RTX 3060 12GB Vs. GeForce RTX 4060 8GB
Sizes are
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 V2 OC Edition 12GB - 7.87 x 4.84 x 0.1 inches
GeForce RTX 4060 8GB - 7.83 x 1.61 x 4.72 inches
I was initially thinking about the Radeon RX 6650XT 8GB though it is a lot more inexpensive than the others but the size is questionable at 9.49 x 5.16 x 0.04 inches
All most forgotten that I need to run two different TVs or monitors individually if that matters at all IDK?
Thank You

Yes, a 500-watt power supply is more than sufficient to power an RTX 3060 12GB.
As a matter of fact (I am digressing), I fitted one of my legacy upgrade projects, an HP ProDesk 600 G4 MT, with a 400-watt power supply (p/n: 942332-001) and an RTX 3060 12GB and paired it with a 95-watt processor (i7-8700K). To this day, it still performs A-OK: HP ProDesk 600 G4 MT Performance Results - UserBenchmark, and it doesn't seem to need a 500-watt power supply, no matter what I have thrown at it.
Disclaimer: I would still recommend a 500-watt power supply, if only for graphics card upgrades in the future.
Btw, there are various 500-watt power supplies which are compatible with your HP ENVY Desktop TE01-2xxx, and a smaller-sized 500-watt power supply has p/n: L81009-800 (L77487-001 / L89233-001), which can be purchased online, such as via this eBay Seller.
As to your question: " I need to run two different TVs or monitors individually if that matters at all IDK?" -No, it wouldn't make any difference.
Hope this was helpful.
Kind Regards,

Hi NonSequitur777
Super Cool 4Sure!
WoW that's very interesting...
I noticed that in your HP ProDesk 600 G3 MT build it looks as if you have two secondary storage drives?
931gb Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 1TB
476gb SPCC M.2 PCIe SSD
My storage is:
512 GB Intel® SSD + 32 GB Intel® Optane™ memory
1863GB Seagate ST2000DM008-2FR102 (SATA (SSD)) 33 °C
Do I have another slot to add another 1TB SSD?
Also, can I pair this PSU 500W For Envy 795-0003UR Desktop L05757-800
with my ENVY TE01-2250xt
NEW Power Supply 500W For Envy 795-0003UR Desktop L05757-800 | eBay
Thank You Again for Your Work and Help!
Much Love and Respect 🖖👽🤙

You're welcome, any time!
Even though I have purchased a number of AMD graphics cards in the past (RX 5500, RX 580, RX 6600 XT, etc.), I have since become partial to Nvidia. Why? In my experience, Nvidia cards have better drivers/software, better gaming performance, RTX+DLSS, Ray Tracing, runs quieter & cooler, and offers (much) better gaming stability.
Mind you, this is just my opinion, others may disagree.

Yes, the 500-watt p/n: L05757-800 power supply is also compatible with your desktop, as I mentioned in my first comment.
Your Stark motherboard comes with an M.2 NVMe SSD slot -which should be used as your primary (boot) drive for sheer I/O speed and performance, then you got three (3) SATA ports for three secondary SDD/HDD drives: dark blue (SATA 0), white (SATA 1) and light blue (SATA 2). The M.2 NVMe SSD slot and the three SATA ports can be used for pretty much any capacity drives: 1TB, 2TB, 4TB, etc. -only your budget is your limit.

I am ascertaining which hardware to use with cost in mind, initially this started out to be just a graphics card upgrade that has escalated towards a rebuild in which I don't mind that, I just want to get the compatibility right while being cost effective with reputable quality hardware.
Installing a GPU - NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3060 (12 GB GDDR6 dedicated)
Replacing the PSU Nightfall Black Plastic + 310 W Gold efficiency power supply with a HP 500W PSU
Replacing the 16 GB DDR4-2933 SDRAM (2 x 8 GB) with 32 GB DDR4-2933 SDRAM (2 x 16 GB)
Cloning the 512 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD and replacing it with a 2TB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD
adding a 2nd secondary HDD - 4TB, Internal Hard Drive HDD - 3.5 Inch CMR SATA
Later I may change the CPU and if I do, I will upgrade to a bigger Heatsink, any suggestions?
I will post to share with you when I get all the decided hardware together readily to purchase, just in case you have any insight to add.
I have a issue with my #2 43-inch screen, it is going black a couple of times for two seconds while mixing videos with Virtual DJ or during video editing and even while stressing MS Edge.
None of the cables are loose and it does not effect the #1 32-inch screen while blacking out, I believe that is a good sign.
MS diagnostics does not show anything is wrong, though not surprising at all and I would not be shocked if it was Windows 11 for sure.
Is there a way to go around using Windows 11 for the use of two independent screens?
I think it may be a VGA to HDMI adapter or a VGA to HDMI cord and I don't want to spend any money on another VGA to HDMI adapter or cord when I'm purchasing a GPU.
Is there anything that you can inform me about within this post?
I just wanted to say that I totally appreciate all your help NonSequitur777 you're super cool, and that I have learned a lot, I am pretty stoked about it all for sure!
Thank You!
Much Love and Respect! 🖖👽🤙
