HP Pavilion 500-336d
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Wonder if anyone upgraded HP Pavilion 500 series. I have a 500-336d and was thinking to upgrade my GPU. Current card is GT 705.

I'm considering either a GTX960 or GTX1050 TI, single fan. I assume dual fan might not fit unless someone can share otherwise.

Wondering if the above mentioned cards are compatible with my PC?

Thanks.

Hi, pleased to share that I've successfully upgraded my PC. Thought of sharing here and hope it will be a good reference for anyone with the similar HP model.

Upgrades:

1. GPU: Nvidia GTX 1050Ti

2. PSU: Corsair CV550 550w

3. RAM: upgraded from 4GB RAM to 2 x 8GB Crucial DDR3 RAM

4. Storage: upgraded from 1TB HDD to 1TB Crucial MX500 SSD. The old HDD, I've kept it as backup storage and removed the power supply connectors from the DVD driver to the HDD. You can surely get additional cables to connect to the DVD driver if you need it.

5. WiFi Card: TP-Link Archer TX55E | AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 Bluetooth 5.2 PCIe Adapter

hi

check the requirements of the chosen graphics card, according to the manufacturer ( power / size )
You have an original power supply of only 300w
may be few or no additional pci connectors

See the @old_geekster  kb

Upgrade Video Card

if you have the original configuration (apart from the graphics card)
you will be limited anyway, after the memory of only 4 gb
i3 4150 processor
so don't spend too much money on a graphics card and power supply

Does a GTX1050 fit then? I'm thinking of getting the single fan since the current GT 705 is a single as well.

Probably upgrade PSU to a 550W.

sorry re-read my answer, the kb, and the links given!
There are an infinite number of graphics card models, with different dimensions, and many models of HP computers!
So I can not know what will fit or not exactly, you have to check directly

You can compare with some models here, but I think not enough
and the links given a user to place a gtx 1060 visibly with a little difficulty
