I'd give the i7-2600K a try then.
Yes, theoretically the memory will work fine.
You need to refer to the service manual for how to properly install mismatched memory capacities because there is a right way and a wrong way to do it.
I solved the problem by buying 4 x 8 GB of DDR3-1333 MHz memory in my 8200 Elite CMT so the memory runs in dual channel mode, and I didn't have to figure out what goes where.
If you don't or can't install the memory so it runs in dual channel mode, it will only run in flex mode (single channel).
For dual channel, you have to do that by balancing the memory capacity in each channel.
For example:
It you have 2 x 4 GB of memory and that one 8 GB memory chip, you install the 2 x 4 GB in Dimm 1 and Dimm 3 and the 8 GB in Dimm2. Dimm 4 is empty.
That way you have 8 GB of memory running in channel one and 8 GB of memory running in channel two.
If you have 4 x 4 GB of memory and you remove one of those chips to install the 8 GB chip, you will have 20 GB running in single channel mode since you will not be in balance (8 GB in one channel and 12 GB in the other).

Yep, looks good.
Did you find out what speed the memory is running at?
Hopefully 1333 MHz.
BTW, if you ever want to run W11 on there, the 8200 Elite runs W11 just fine.
If you are interested in installing W11 on your PC as is, you can read this discussion for how I upgraded several HP and Dell notebook and desktop PC's that did not meet the W11 hardware requirements to W11 22H2.
You have to use the version of the Rufus utility that I zipped up and attached in the discussion (v3.18).

If the in-place upgrade fails, you should be able to clean install W11 using the bootable W11 installation flash drive you made with Rufus.

Ye it is 1333 speed, and ye i know when this pc 1st came to me few days ago it had windows 10 not activated (the seller scammed me a bit) so i took out the 120 gb sandisk ssd it had and i tried to raid 0 windows 11 on my twe 870evos and failled to raid so i installed 1 ssd instead and got windows 11 on it it was running well but on this device i prefare windows 10 since my main pc has win 11.. so i returned to 10

also i have an update i orderd the 2600k im waiting for it to come and i will report back if it works or not,
Btw i forgot to ask what is the maximum ram that my pc can accept?
Also Yesterday i was trying to do raid ZERO again on my pc and failed.. i think i finally gave up. i wont try it anymore unless somebody explain to me exactly what do i need to install or what to do after installing windows from a flash drive.. (and get it to boot properly)
Also i have wifi card from aliexpress (pci e card ) that i use for my 8200 compaq and it is not giving me my full internet speed or even half of it (930 mb down 100mb up) it gets to 100-230 max and it even disconnect sometimes i dont like it. I would like to get a recommendation for a proper wifi card (not expensive) i think i prefere usb over pcie because i almost maxed all of my expension slots on this pc but it can work for me too if i remove the other wifi card i guess (im still waiting for the usb 3 card so im scared it wont work well on one of the slots so i would have to remove something) i need a card that can give me close to my max speed which is 930mb
Thanks.

Hi:
Your PC can support up to 4 x 8 GB of DDR3/DDR3L-1333 MHz/1600 memory which will run at 1333 MHz.
I only use PCIe x1 Wi-Fi cards in my two HP 8200 Elite CMT's and my two Dell Optiplex PC's.
They are Intel AX200's and since I only pay for 300 MBPS internet service, I don't know how fast they can go.
They give me the 300 MBPS download that I am paying for, and they usually show a connection speed of between 867 MBPS and 1.2 GBPS. My ISP only gives us 12 MBPS upload speeds.
Never had a problem with any of these cards.
I do use one USB Wi-Fi card on my desktop PC test bench because it is easier to connect PC's to Wi-Fi that way rather than having to constantly install and remove a PCIe x 1 card.
This is the one I use: It works pretty good even out of a USB 2 port.
The 1300 MBPS is a misnomer. The max transfer speed out of this device is 878 MBPS on the 5.0 GHz Wi-Fi band.
I just ran a speed test on it and got 260 MBPS down and 11.2 MBPS up.
It does what I need it to do and works on W10/W11.
