PS: (sure BIOS update sure)
now more on missing HDD or SSD, both.
I boot to linux demo media, like all techs do to see if linux demo can see the ssd. (or hdd)
if not BIOS is messed up of both a SSD and used HDD fails.
I always test 2 HDD, not just one. or waste huge efforts doing nothing at all.
never work on any PC lacking spare parts to try. as any shop will tell you that.
for sure batteries and hdd spares.
in linux demo (try me mode) i can run disk test, and if Smart fails the hDD or sdd is bad. it will tell you that in 5 seconds flat after ubuntu loads. to ram.
warning #1 if the disk is hDD or SSD and GPT formatted secure the newest linux shows the drive missing too.
by law. (UEFI regs) to get Unbuntu v20 legit. they did just that. so that too is tricky no?
learn about the program called Killdisk . and like magic the SSD is 100% erased, NOW.
this is how I do tests, but BIOS setting can be wrong. or the silly battery is dead.
