I wasn't sure if you wanted me to check the 12c HID device with or without the error code, so I just did the one with the error code

I didn't before you replied, but it didn't work when I did

here the problem comes probably from the touchpad , so did you install the update from the link indicated?

Hello @qqrypt

(1Run Intel® Driver & Support Assistant to automatically detect driver updates

or

Install Intel® Serial IO Driver for Windows® 10

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/18514/intel-serial-io-driver-for-windows-10.html

( unzip file to use the driver files: sio_win10_64_1.3.zip )

(2) Reboot and check again ...

Please report your results

best regards

Hi so I apologise, this didn't work

Also I don't know if this helps at all or not but, in the HP Support Assistant app when I click on updates, software & drivers, it takes me to this page ( shown in image.) But when I try to download & install 'ELAN Fingerprint Sensor Driver' it never works. Instead, 'Failed Installation' comes up

Hello @qqrypt

(1) Install fingerprint sensor driver

Elan Fingerprint Sensor Driver

3.2.12011.10022 Rev.A1.8 MBSep 3, 2020Download

(2) Reboot and test again ...

(3) Check windows device manager. All devices should be ok.

So my touchpad still isn't working but the driver downloaded thank you

hi

Which windows version do you have exactly?
When you tried, it was ok, but in the meantime, has an update been made perhaps?

In the device manager, you have new errors?
If it crashes every time, an update may be the cause, possibly a hardware problem
