Hello, trying to factory reset my laptop so that my ex husbands info isn’t on it any longer. I’m running into issues with it saying  “restoration incomplete” but anything I do won’t get me off that screen. How do I restart the process when the retry button doesn’t eotk

I don't know if I understood correctly what you are referring to.

so if you turn off the computer completely, and you try the recovery again, using the f11 key at startup, and that not possible
see if you can create a usb key, recovery:

I don’t want to recover anything. I want to clear all info off the laptop.  Followed all the steps but keep getting stuck (well won’t let me off) on the “restoration failure/incomplete”

Sorry, but read what is said carefully.
In particular, if nothing possible with the available options of the computer, the cloud recovery, is used to reinstall the computer as you wish to do
