I went to HP support for help losing connection with my printer, I was turned over to a tech who I let into my computer. His name wastecha075@**bleep**.com which no longer exists. He showed me that numerous people were on my network and sold me a Cisco firewall program. When I try to get to my router the program EXOS opens and asks for a login and password which I do not have. I was billed $499.99 on my credit card through Safesys Innovations LLC. When I contacted Safesys online they had another tech call and he could not open the program either and he was able to give me my customer ID#. He then tried to sell me IP masking from $799- $2199 depending on device # and length of time. I refused and started researching BBB for scams near Dallas and found someone else with similar problem. Someone within HP support is helping these scammers.

@M_M38, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

First and foremost, I'm truly sorry to hear about your experience. What you've described is very concerning and we take matters like this extremely seriously.

Please know that HP does not partner with third-party companies for troubleshooting and we never charge excessive fees for standard technical support. Most issues are resolved directly through our official support channels without cost, unless they involve authorized out-of-warranty repairs or paid services—which are always transparently communicated.

Here’s what we urgently recommend:

Contact your local law enforcement to report this incident. This is important not just to protect yourself but to help authorities investigate and potentially stop these scammers from targeting others.

Report the fraud to your bank or credit card company immediately to dispute the $499.99 charge.

Report the scam If your personal data was accessed, consider placing a fraud alert with a credit bureau.

To Help Us Investigate

Could you please let us know where you initially contacted “HP support”? For example:

A specific website

A phone number

A pop-up or ad on a search engine

This information is critical for us to trace and report the fraudulent source and work to have it taken down.

Once again, we are very sorry this happened. Please know that HP is committed to the safety and trust of our customers, and we do not refer our users to other companies or ask for remote access unless through verified, secure support channels.

If you need real HP support, please only use our official website:
Official HP® Support

We're here to assist you in any way we can moving forward.

Take care and have a good day.
