Hello guys,

maybe you can help me. Today I tried to recover my laptop with the HP cloud recovery tool.

I installed the tool, created the usb stick...

but the stick isn't starting the Recovery Manager, it just starts the Windows Installer.

As I want to reset my laptop to original settings, I thought it would work great with this tool, but even after I changed Legacy support to true and booted both Legacy and UEFI, it's still only starting the Windows Installer.

Hi, @Sebastian131

The cloud recovery tool for HP business class PC's works differently than the one for the consumer class PC's.

The tool will install a plain version of Windows, and then afterward you click on a file to install the drivers and software.

See the instructions starting on page 10 for the client recovery utility that I attached below...

Windows has a built-in app to "Reset my PC", if Windows is currently running.

If you do boot from that "Cloud Recovery", it should invoke the Windows Installer, to load a copy of the factory-installed version of Windows.

I thougth it would open a window like this:

Also, reset my PC isn't working even though Windows boots correctly

If it is booting correctly, maybe "reset my PC" has successfully worked ?

What do you mean by "isn't working" ?  If you supply some "technical" details, then technical advice can be given.  Error-message? Something unexpected happening?
