Yellow_Arrow_Bullet_2.jpg  HP Support Assistant can add printers to the Device list.

The description provided within the HPSA program is mis-leading; the explanation in the White Paper is more precise.

Yellow_Arrow_Bullet_2.jpg  There is no manual method to add the monitor to the HPSA program.

HP Support Assistant

  • If you have ‘Admin’ control, you may highlight the package and “double-click” to install it, else Right-Click, Select run as Administrator and install.

HP PCs - Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 10, 8, 7)

HP Support Assistant 8.0 - Technical white paper

Section Excerpted from HPSA White Paper:

My devices

Adding devices

You can add printers within your environment from My devices. This allows you to get information and updates for your PC and any attached printers.

If you are merely interested in detecting the monitor, you can do so easily:

Open a command prompt window with Admin privileges:

Windows key + X + A

Type command all on one line, no spaces needed between commas:

wmic desktopmonitor get Name,ScreenHeight,ScreenWidth,Status,PixelsPerXLogicalInch

It sad that HPSA is limited and misled information. I accept that there is acceptable solution.

Thank you for helping me

You are welcome.

You bring up a good point:  It would be nice if the HP Support Assistant would support HP monitors as detected devices.
