My HP support assistant say I have 52 updates for my notebook. When I open the assistant on my notebook it says I have 52 update for my desktop. How can I delete or install the updates when I can't open them> I tried uninstalling and reinstalling assistant but they came back

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are unable to install the updates from HP support assistant.

 

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

 

I recommend you follow the below steps to install the update from the HP support assistant.

 

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

    Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

  6. Perform any other update management actions as needed.

    • Postpone an update: Click Remind me, and then select a time preference.

    • Delete an available update: Click the Delete icon  to remove the update from the list and record it in the action log.

    • Review updates status: Click Action log below the list to view installed, postponed, or deleted updates.

That's not what I said. When I'm on my laptop and I open assistant It says my desktop has 55 updates so I go to my dersktop and open up assistant where it tells me that I have 55 updates for my notebook. I can't get rid of them on either device I'm stuck in a catch 22

I recommend you perform a system reset on the computer following the steps in the below article and check.
