Ok but as I told you I don't have any access to the service manuel unfortunately.
My hp hard drive is already outside the computer. Is it the same type of connection with the lenovo SSD ?
I will try to find a picture of the SSD to find it in the lenovo computer.
Thanks for all !!!!

You're very welcome.
Yes, according to the specifications for the Lenovo drive the M.2 SSD should fit where I indicated it will go in the HP notebook--above the battery and to the left of the fan and the right of the memory chips.

I don't know what model Idea Pad3 you have.
There are many variations.
I found this manual for one and if you look at pages 37 & 38 it shows where it is on this model:
IdeaPad 3/IdeaPad 3i/IdeaPad Slim 3/IdeaPad Slim 3i Series Hardware Maintenance Manual (lenovo.com)
The drive will look like this after you remove the thermal pad:

Thanks Paul. It is what they call the mzmory module on page #38 ? I saw this piece but it looked much smaller than what you showed me as examples so...
I'll try tocremove it tomorrow butvit doesn't seem so easy...
There is also a hard drive on the picture page 38. Only for memory/data storage ?
If I go through the whole process, I will have a 256 Go SSD for winfows and memory storage ? I fear connection will be an issue for me. Maybe I should ask a shop to do the skipping and confirm it should work after testing ?? Time to sleep now ! For me. And for Joe Biden too 🙂 thank u again !

Can't sleep....
So back to business.
43 & 44 is about Removing the solid-state drive thermal pad ?? I don't see any piece looking like what you showed me ?
I will try to have a look to the price of a cheap Hard Drive with small memory...

Yes, you may have to.
Looking at all of the illustrations in that Lenovo service manual, the M2 SSD appears to be located in the upper right side of those illustrations and it appears to be a M.2 2242 size drive (half the length of the standard M.2 2280 drives.
The M.2 2280 drive is about the size of a stick of chewing gum, and the M.2 2242 drive would be about half that length.
22 mm wide x 80 mm long is the standard 2280 size. The M.2 2242 would be 22 mm wide and 42 mm long.
The drive would fit in your notebook's slot, but there is no place to screw the shorter drive down.
