Dear Paul,
I enjoy the computer again but I fear investing in this old chap was maybe not a very good idea. I am not sure the computer has no other problems. Something strange happened twice since I had it repaired. After loading the battery, I switched of the computer and after trying to switch it on again, I realized the battery was empty ! I can't imagine I didn't switch it off in a correct way and I found it with low battery after...but if it is not the case, how could you explain the battery went down without using the computer. I am currently using the computer and the battery is OK.
Have a nice evening !

Hi:
Unfortunately, I wouldn't know what would be causing that unless the battery was very weak and in need of replacement.
There is only one thing I can think of to help reduce the battery discharging when the notebook is off and that would be to turn off the fast startup option.
See this link for how to do that:
How to Disable Windows 10 Fast Startup (lifewire.com)
You have a nice evening too!
Cheers,
Paul

Thank you. If battery was weak I couldn't use the computer so long unplugged. I read about disconnecting the fast start-up option...I'll see later.
PS : now I am working under W11.
I have another problem: when moving the computer, it is restarting. Very strange...

Oh !!! 4th of July ! Happy Independance Day !!
PS : happy with the victory of the "Floridian" ??
PS2 : my computer keeps on disconnecting sometimes and shows a QR Code for a while I miss time to scan. Furthermore, the computer is now and then, especially when starting, making a little noise like a "clinc"...quite smooth but frequent and connected with the activity of the computer it seems. A bit worrying...

Thanks! France helped us become an independent country, so enjoy our holiday too!
It's a very rainy day here. I hope we are able to watch the fireworks because more storms are predicted this evening.
Unfortunately, I wouldn't know what could be causing that problem.
Your notebook's not that old--maybe 6 years or so?
It's a shame that it is having problems.

For the National Hockey League, I am a fan of the New York Rangers because I lived about half of my life in the NYC metropolitan area, and my father used to take us to Madison Square Garden to watch the Rangers play.
We used to go many times.
Since I have moved to Illinois, we always go to the annual game when the NY Rangers play the St. Louis Blues.
They play one game in St. Louis and one game in NY during the season.
