Those folks are lifeguards.

The second picture is correct. That is the service I was in.

I am also a civil servant. I worked abroag in French embassies but now I feel like more and more working for crooks who are "self-servant" ! I am currently searching for a new position and the period is not easy at all. I am in the construction field.

I wonder if in France we have such coast guards ?? We have a "civil protection", civil coast lifegards, mimitary men involved on rescuing but...let's have a look in the internet !!

No...what we call Coast Gards work for the Customs. You don't ?

Sounds interesting what you do.

We do work with the US Customs to interdict smugglers.

Mostly illegal drugs and illegal immigration by sea.

Gendarmerie is military police. Quite rare in Europe nowadays. My father was a gendarm and my brother is. My brother is working in a maritime team but more in charge of nuclear base protection. Gendarms go everywhere sea included. Yes their job  can be close to yours.

Dear Paul.

I visited the shop close to my place this morning and the guy gave me advice and opened the computer.  There is a NVMe M.2 hard drive inside the hp but with small capacity (for RAM ?). The guy proposed me a second hand 256 Go second hand NVMe M.2  and to set up all the sofwares W11 included plus a second hand 1T mechanical hard disk for memory...60 euros. I considered it a good bargain and I should get the computer back tonight ! Thanks !

That's a good deal and saves you the headache of taking the notebook apart.

It's interesting information because the product specifications for your notebook indicate that it only comes with a 1 To mechanical hard drive. 

No mention of a 256 Go MVMe SSD.

Not 256 Go, only 16 Go as a booster for the hard drive. Now I have a new 256 Go SSD drive and a 1To disk (second hand). I am happy...

The specs don't mention the presence of the M 2 16 Go Intel Optane memory either. 

You are going to like how much better the notebook is going to run.
