Hi! I have had my HP 24 all in one desktop with windows 10 for a year. I used to have the same with Windows 7. I do NOT like this computer at all > I am aware this may not be the place to ask but if anyone could point me in the right direction to sell this computer and also suggest how much of a loss I would take (it is currently ON SALE for 799).
Thanks for any help. I cant even seem to find the proper place to ask my question.
Shelley

There is a discussion here about the proper way to "reset" a system for re-sale. If security of your information left on the the computer is of paramount importance then you replace the hard drive with an cheap one and install windows 10x64 on it using the Microsoft media creation tool, the "create" not the update
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
64 bit windows is a free upgrade and uses the same digital license as the 32 bit even if you upgraded from 7 long ago.
You can sell on eBay or Craigs list if in USA, not sure about other countries.
What model do you have? How much memory? Type of CPU?
All the above figure info the value of the system.
Have you been having hardware problems?
If a first time seller you may not get many offers unless you guarantee it works.
If reset or installed correctly, the buy will be asked the same questions as would be normally done with a new system and it would be activated automatically. You should also log into your Microsoft account and delete the device from your device list.

@Shelleyekg -- I do NOT like this computer at all
in addition to the excellent information provided by @BeemerBiker
please tell us your concerns and issues with your current computer.
Maybe, we can provide assistance, instead of you selling your computer, and taking a "loss".
Also, note that your computer probably is qualified (by Microsoft) to install Windows 11, for free.
If you are going to keep the computer past October 2025, you _must_ install Windows 11 before that date. So, I recommend that you upgrade to Windows 11 "sooner-than-later".

I have had nothing but problems using my new HP windows 10. Had the same before but 7. So I am currently trying to upgrade to 11. This computer came with Wave Browser (not familiar) and Microsoft Edge (also not familiar). SO I bypassed and I am using Google Chrome browser.
My ONE DRIVE is frozen. I only have photos there. Googled how to delete duplicates, it would not work. I have all my photos in my Amazon photo app free so why would I pay 69. a year to store my photos? I am SO lost. I am ready to wipe this less than one year old computer clean and sell it and got to iMac. I have been sitting here all morning following every prompt to move forward and there is ALWAYS a dead end. I am about to give up.
I use my computer for personal things. Photos, email, Facebook, shopping, Zoom meetings. I do not need an expensive MS package (Does not seem to me that I should?). Can anyone help me before I totally give up. Right now WIndows 11 is supposedly downloading. I may have just opened yet another can of worms with this. No one to help me in person.
THanks. Shelley

You may find that Apple's iCloud is just as bad. My GF has lost sync between iPhone and iCloud, is out of space to where she cannot make a backup except local windows system. In addition she has literally 100's of folders each containing anywhere from 0 to 100's of files with many of them duplicates. When deleting from windows she gets the messages that some of the photos cannot be found as the photo was on the iPhone. It is a huge mess.
At one time it was possible to uninstall one-drive which I would do but it would go back in on the next update. The last time I tried it was not listed in the "installs" as Microsoft had figured a way to hide it. I have tried disabling it but stuff still gets down in there.
I am going to try again. Instructions are here
Occasionally I discoverer that huge mp4, zip, rar end up in documents and fill up one drive.

@Guessgirlshell -- this computer came with Wave Browser (not familiar) and Microsoft Edge (also not familiar). SO I bypassed and I am using Google Chrome browser.
Microsoft's programmers wrote the code for "Edge", because they wanted to "start-again", rather than trying to make improvements to Internet Explorer. Edge is available for Windows 7, Windows 8, and is included as the "default" web-browser in Windows 10 and Windows 11.
Note that Microsoft later "started-again", because they needed to keep Edge up-to-date with the features found within Google Chrome. So, Microsoft started with the open-source "Chromium" project, and customized it, and released a new version of Edge in January 2020. Note that Google Chrome is also based on the same Chromium. So, replacing Edge by Chrome does not change anything important.

@BeemerBiker -- When deleting from windows, she gets the messages that some of the photos cannot be found, as the photo was on the iPhone.
Because both her iPhone and her computer are logged-in to the same account,
deleting a photo from the iPhone should cause a "synchronization", resulting in the photo being removed from the cloud, and from any device (her computer) that also is logged-in to the cloud.
If she has exceeded her "no-cost" allocation of storage-space in her cloud-account, she needs to move some files out from the cloud, by moving those files into a folder on her computer that is *NOT* designated as being linked to the cloud. Once some space is available on the cloud, "synchronization" should occur -- deleting a file from the cloud will delete the file from the iPhone.

Ty for your help! I did install Windows 11 and now I feel like my computer is more user friendly and the programs that I use are flowing now. I'm really surprised at the difference between Windows 10 and 11 and I'm so happy that I took the plunge. Can't thank you enough!

Your welcome!
There is one feature of windows 11 I did not like. You MAY have the same problem. The file explorer has "More Options" at the bottom. Unfortunately, I use those options more than I do the ones Microsoft thinks are needed. The "more" can be removed several ways as explained here
https://beebom.com/how-get-old-context-menu-windows-11/
I am not sure why they showed an alternate way using the registry. That is dangerous and may not work after a win11 update.

TY Beemer. I SO appreciate all your input. I don't think this will be an issue for me.
I did want to say for anyone who might be taking the jump to Windows 11 that my computer "prompted" me to make sure everything "in order" to proceed with a Windows upgrade. So I clicked on a button that brought me to what I call "the dreaded one drive". It said my one drive was frozen and I had to pay MS 69.99 to unfreeze it and proceed. I thought, NO WAY am I paying that money for one drive which I cannot stand. So I took a deep breath and hit the button to upgrade to 11. Success as I stated earlier. Now I have an icon for my pictures and it is NOT one drive. When I think about how many people paid MS that money. My computer is now only for person use as I just retired so I do not need to store many files. I did have access to WORD on my previous HP which is useful at times. I will spend today looking to see what else is improved with 11. I dont ever recall paying to store documents. Possibly notepad is here where I could compose letters, etc. THANKS AGAIN!!!
