Subject: Request for Assistance Resetting BIOS Administrator Password
Dear HP Support,
I am writing to request assistance with my HP Pavilion All-in-One – 27-xa0035xt. Below are the system details for your reference:
- Motherboard: HP 84EE (U3E1)
- BIOS Version: F.34
- Serial Number: <Do not include the product serial number or any private information>
- Product Number: X6C37AA#ABA
I am currently unable to access the BIOS or boot from a USB device, as the system prompts for an administrator password that I have no record of setting.
Could you please advise me on how I might reset or remove this password? If required, I am happy to provide proof of ownership to verify my request. Additionally, if a master password or an SMC.bin file is necessary for this process, I would appreciate your guidance on obtaining or applying it.
Thank you for your assistance.
Sincerely,
- <Do not include the product serial number or any private information>

Hello @Bluezzman ,
Welcome to the HP community.
A quick community search for the terms BIOS & Password finds all these posts >here<, which are mainly closed with the below explanation:
Unfortunately, you will need to contact an HP agent for problems with BIOS passwords.
Here is HP's official policy regarding BIOS passwords:
According to the Community's Rules of Participation:
4d. No posts shall include instructions/directions intended to bypass or subvert security mechanisms such as lock screens, BitLockers, BIOS lock, passwords, fingerprint/biometry scanners, PINs, or any other safety measures.
Therefore, this topic is being locked. If you would like help resetting the password on your product, please Contact HP support in your region.
For cases related to BitLocker issues, please contact Microsoft Support.
The only way to recover your PC's BitLocker key is if you printed it out or exported it to your Microsoft account when you first set up your PC.
Find your BitLocker recovery key - Microsoft Support
Without the key, you will have to clean install Windows on the encrypted drive so you can use your PC again.
Best regards
Steffen Baier
