Hi @Ewain,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your PC!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Let’s troubleshoot the issue step by step.

Start by force restarting your computer. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to power it off completely. Turn it back on and repeatedly press F11 (for HP) to access the HP Recovery Manager. Once there, try running the System Restore again.

If it’s still stuck, you can boot into Safe Mode. Force shut down the laptop and restart it while repeatedly pressing F8. If F8 doesn’t work, try holding Shift + F8. In Safe Mode, log in and open the Command Prompt. Type rstrui.exe and press Enter to launch System Restore.

If these options don’t work, you’ll need to use Windows installation media. On another computer, create a bootable USB with Windows. Insert it into the troubled laptop, restart, and access the BIOS by pressing F10 during boot. Change the boot order to start from USB. Once booted, select Repair your computer > Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > System Restore.

As a final step, you might need to reset your PC. In Advanced Startup (accessed by holding F11), go to Troubleshoot > Reset this PC. You can choose to keep your files or remove everything, depending on your preference.

Let me know how it goes or if you need further guidance. I’m here to help! 😊
