Example: Pavilion p7-1380t
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

No signal from my desktop to the monitor. The monitor and cables all work. I have checked them on a different computer. I have changed ports for the cables (USB, DVI). Nothing works. The desktop turns on and just recently was working, but now no signal and a blank screen. Is the video card dead or is there something else I can do first? Thank you.

hi

HP Pavilion p7-1380t Product Specifications and Configurable Options

Motherboard Specifications, H-Joshua-H61-uATX (Joshua)

Must select one of the following options:
  • Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD Integrated Graphics
  • GeForce GT 530 (2 GB)
  • GeForce GT 620 (1 GB)
  • GeForce GT 630 (2 GB)
  • GeForce GT 640 (3 GB)
  • Radeon HD 7350 (512 MB)
  • Radeon HD 7450 (1 GB)
  • Radeon HD 7570 (2 GB)

there is nothing specific for the configuration, it is a configurable model, so this one
so depending, if you have a graphics card, remove it and connect the monitor to the motherboard, to verify

Hi,

There is no video card. The two DVI connectors go straight into the main board. The main board was made in China and starts with PCLD.  The previous boot disk problem working and I was reloading my data. Then one day there was no signal to the monitor either via DVI or USB.

Thanks,

This does not seem to be a "boot issue".

What model is your monitor?

Does it have multiple video-inputs: VGA, Computer, DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort ?

You must tell the monitor which of those inputs is to be the "active" source.

What output does your computer currently using ? VGA? DVI? HDMI? DisplayPort?

why are you talking about two dvi connectors?
you just mentioned a monitor ..
unless it's one after the other?
unfortunately, if you have no graphics card, and no display, the motherboard may be damaged.

There are DVI-I and DVI-D connectors. I was using an old Dell tube monitor connected to DVI-I and it has worked fine for over 9 years including after the new hard drive and boot disk reboot.  I switched to a Samsung flat screen plugged into a USB port in the front, but got the same no signal message. I wonder if there is a difference in the USB ports (front and back)?

Thanks

Do not search with the usb

use the dvi i or dvi d cable, compatible according to your monitor
When you press the power button on the computer, listen, and see the signs on startup

Do you have arched fans, they turn, or stop
the indicator light of the button remains on, flashes, goes out?
Do you have a hard drive activity light, is it blinking or not?
at the rear, power indicator light, on, flashing, go out?

@Prométhée / @LGRK -- why are you talking about two dvi connectors?

One of my computers is a Dell tower. Integrated into the motherboard are two DVI sockets.

Another computer of mine has two DisplayPort connectors integrated into the motherboard.

For both computers, there is no "add-in" graphics-adapter card.

So, please only make ACCURATE comments, when attempting to help the author.

If you don't get it, don't confuse it, not knowing what I'm talking about, I ask the user a simple question.
So if he didn't understand what I meant either
"No signal from my desktop to the monitor. The monitor and cables all work"
here, for me we are talking about a monitor
then
"The two DVI connectors go straight into the main board"
i just just didn't understand what the user here is saying, wondering if he is trying to use both at the same time, or if he has two screens only

The green light on the back is on steady. The two interior fans are running. There are no lights on the new WDC hard drive so I don't know if it's on. I have reconnected the old Dell monitor via DVI-I. No response on the monitor. The monitor light is on but blinking which indicates no signal from computer per previous experience.
