After Win 10 reset and installation of available Windows updates, I have the following error being reported with IMEI in the Device Mgr:
STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE
Current driver version is: 11.6.0.1042
Hardware ID:
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C3A&SUBSYS_2B2C103C&REV_04
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C3A&SUBSYS_2B2C103C
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C3A&CC_078000
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C3A&CC_0780
I've installed the Intel Driver Support assistant and installed all available updates it finds. I've installed HP Support Assistant and done the same. The latest BIOS is installed. I've attempted at least the following solutions with no success:
Any more ideas from anyone please? Your help is appreciated.

Greetings,
Welcome back to the forum.
I am not a HP employee.
You have installed the only chipset driver HP has provided (Link) and have updated the BIOS to this version (Link).
There are no Intel MEI drivers listed at this HP Support site (Link) for your PC. This is unusual. Normally OEMs will provide the Windows Intel MEI driver and a firmware driver to update the BIOS version. HP may be including these in the chipset driver and the BIOS update.
Have you tried Windows 10 Update to see if Microsoft will give you it's version of the IMEI driver?

Hi,
You're very welcome.
You want the Intel MEI 11.7.0.1069 MEI-Only installer version for a H87 chipset (Haswell processor), Your PC has an i3-4170. Please see this site for your PC's motherboard specs (Link).
A link to the IMEI file can be found at this site (Link) page 1.
This file has a .rar extension.
You will need to use 7-Zip, free, (Link) to extract the installer.
I have checked the .rar and extracted file using Trend Micro. It appears to be clean. Check it yourself before you run the installer.
This IMEI download site link has been recommended and used by folks at the Windows 10 Forums (Link).

Hi,
It does not hurt to check the hardware, especially the motherboard. Might as well run a short test while you are rebooting the system. I was not concerned about the HDD. The memory test is good. There should be a system board test.
Try uninstalling IMEI in Programs and Features.
Reboot.
Then try reinstalling the IMEI installer you previously downloaded.
Have you tried using a system restore point created prior to the start of this problem?
What version of W10 are you using now? You may have updated to version 1809 which could be causing the problem.

There should be a system board test.
There's no system board test for this system - RAM and HDD only.
Have you tried using a system restore point created prior to the start of this problem?
This is a fresh install of Win10 (Version 1803 / Build 17134.556)
Try uninstalling IMEI in Programs and Features.
No change after uninstall/reinstall

Hi,
I'm stumped. Device Manager Code 10 errors are usually caused by driver corruption. But you cannot rule out a possible hardware problem.
I thought HP included a system board check in the diagnostics.
Windows update should have provided the correct drivers to get the system running after a fresh install.
I am pretty sure you said you can't get driver updates for any problem devices in Device Manager.
You can't install the correct IMEI driver.
You updated the BIOS to the latest version referenced in my previous link to the latest BIOS version.
Did you happen to check system files for corruption?
The only thing I would do at this point is back up data or make an offline system image of this install. Do another clean W10 installation. Or try using a different HDD or SSD and do a second W10 installation to see if anything changes.
I am out of ideas. W10 version 1803 is very stable.
I normally build Intel systems and have never encountered a problem such as yours after doing a clean W10 installation. I always install the MB manufacturer's: Chipset, MEI, IRST, Ethernet and WIFI/Bluetooth drivers. But Windows Update has always given me working drivers with no device errors.
Keep in mind the system builds are done using the latest hardware. Compatibility is good.
Maybe another forum member has some ideas on what is happening.
