My desk jet 2700 is not printing and the information button stays on

I understand your HP DeskJet 2700 is not printing and the Information (i) light stays on. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check what the Information light means
The Information light turns on when the printer needs attention.
It usually indicates an issue with ink, paper, setup, or connection.

Press the Information (i) button
Press the i button once while the light is on.
The printer should print an information page explaining the problem.

Check ink cartridge status
Open the cartridge access door and make sure both cartridges are installed correctly.
If a cartridge is missing, empty, or not recognized, the printer will not print.

Check for paper or paper settings issues
Make sure paper is loaded correctly in the input tray.
Adjust the paper guides so they are snug against the paper stack.

Restart the printer (power reset)
With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the back.
Wait 60 seconds, reconnect the cord, and turn the printer back on.

Check the printer connection
If using Wi-Fi, confirm the printer and device are connected to the same network.
If using USB, reconnect the cable directly to the computer and avoid adapters.

Clear any stuck print jobs
Cancel all pending print jobs from your computer or phone.
Stuck jobs can keep the Information light on and block printing.

Try a test print
After completing the steps, print a simple document or test page.
If the printer responds, the issue has been cleared.
