Hi, I have a
HP All-in-One - 22-b072 (Touch) (ENERGY STAR) and I ran a test and it showed failure: Hard drive/ssd short dst failure: ogdpnx-88ebku-gxpt7g-6ouk03.
HOWEVER, I would like to know if I can save my data to my external drive? The computer will come on, however, it gets stuck on the desktop and goes black. I can still see the cursor though. I just want my pics and docs. It made a 'beeping' sound right before it happened. I know, I should have been backing up my files, I have learned my lesson.

Normally you have to do other way around (because your machine may NOT boot):
- replace HDD and re-build your machine,
- then you can mount old/faulty HDD to recover files/data.
Depending on the nature of its fault, you may not recover 100% your data
Note: you can also mount old HDD to other machine and recover from there.
Regards.
