@Menkem -- is the original HP Warranty still valid? Did you purchase the "all perils" warranty, which covers self-damage to the computer? If the latter, HP will repair/replace your computer.
Did you purchase the computer on one of those "gold" credit-cards? Some of them include "all perils" protection.
Otherwise, you are on your own.
Your disk-drive might be OK, so that you can attach the disk-drive as a "secondary" disk-drive in some other computer, to copy all your personal files.

As indicated by @itsmyname the standard HP warranty does not cover Accidental Damage -- which is what you did when you dropped the laptop.
You would have had to purchase a CarePack option -- and you would know if you did that because they have different options and different prices -- and you would have registration information from HP about the CarePack.
HP does not do accidental damage repair without the CarePack.
I am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor represent, HP

@WAWood -- HP does not do accidental damage repair without the CarePack.
Really?
I can understand that HP will not do the repair for "free" without an active CarePack.
But, if you contact HP Support, and offer to pay them to repair it at the nearest Authorized HP Service Centre, will they refuse to take your money? I don't know.
Ask HP for an estimate of the repair cost -- it may be cost-effective to buy something new, especially when "ready for Windows 11" computers are about to be released by the major computer manufacturers.
