My desktop crashed and I am trying to get it back up and running. HP Support had me to do a file backup. Once I verified there are files on the USB drive we attempted to do a restore. This has been done twice with the same results 'Recovery Imcomplete'. I also went to the library to verify files on the USB drive. I see there is a back up folder for yesterday but I am unable to determine if it is my personal files that I need . The file extension is SWM and config files from 2015. How can I verify my personal files such as doc, xls, adobe are backed up. Should those file formats be on the USB drive as well?

Here is an explanation for the files with the SWM extension

Be sure to read far enough to see the part about 7-Zip being able to read the files. That way you can see the files to see what is actually there. Using 7-Zip, you should be able to move the files to the location you choose instead of using the Recovery Manager.

Like I posted, you can use 7-Zip to verify what is part of the backup folder and, if you wish, restore them one at a time or as a group with 7-Zip. Once 7-Zip opens the folder, you should be able to see the normal extensions and place them, or move them to a place you choose. If you need some additional help, please post back with any questions.
