Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

please help...

I tried to installing linux mint os in my old pc and had almost completed it but then it says to restart the pc and then when I restart it, all my previous os windows files were deleted and a blue screen opened up saying

your pc/device needs to be repaired

a required device is not connected or can't be accessed

error code: 0x000000e

you will need to use recovery tools. IF you don't have any installation media (file like a disc or usb device) contact your pc administrator or pc manufacturer.

which mean Windows can’t find the boot device or boot files. This likely happened because the Linux installer overwrote or removed the Windows bootloader.

now here also some keys were mentioned, and I pressed esc key then that bios menu appear and then pressed F9 for boot device options.
now here, it required a BIOS/UEFI ADMINISTRATOR PASSWORD. which I forgot.

so, I want help for is there any way that I can resolve this issue.

I chatted with Microsoft support agent, and they said HP contact could do anything now, but this pc warranty is over and I didn,t get chat support

please help!!!

Hello @YUVI7 ,

Welcome to the HP community.

A quick community search for the terms BIOS & Password finds all these posts >here<, which are mainly closed with the below explanation:

Unfortunately, you will need to contact an HP agent for problems with BIOS passwords.

Here is HP's official policy regarding BIOS passwords:

According to the Community's Rules of Participation:

4d. No posts shall include instructions/directions intended to bypass or subvert security mechanisms such as lock screens, BitLockers, BIOS lock, passwords, fingerprint/biometry scanners, PINs, or any other safety measures.

Therefore, this topic is being locked. If you would like help resetting the password on your product, please Contact HP support in your region.

For cases related to BitLocker issues, please contact Microsoft Support.

The only way to recover your PC's BitLocker key is if you printed it out or exported it to your Microsoft account when you first set up your PC.

Find your BitLocker recovery key - Microsoft Support

Without the key, you will have to clean install Windows on the encrypted drive so you can use your PC again.

Best regards

Steffen Baier
