HP notebook 15-ay065nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I puchased this laptop 3/31/17 it sat in the closet until 11/12/17 at which time I tried to use it and could not. I contacted HP via e-mail received phone numbers and a case number, I talk to one tech he run me thru self test determined the computer was working properly that my software had expired, he gave me a new case number and told me to call back talk to software techs. Bottom line is I paid 89.99 to someone they gaveme a confirmation# and fixed my computer with some warranty lasting 3 yrs. I googled the phone# i was dealing with ( the same as on your web site) and it says that is a scam. HAVE I BEEN SCAMMED OR NOT

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

I am curious as to what software has expired?  Not many of the things you actually need will be expired in that short of time.  If the computer now works and if was only $89.99, not too bad of a trade off for legit work.

I was told the warranties on the software on this laptop expire after 90 days. Yes the problem seems to be rectified but who got my money? Yeh maybe they are one and the same if so good if not then how do I or all of us stop this type of nonsense

To what E-mail ID did you send your E-mail?

Did you Google-search those telephone numbers?

$89.99 is a low price for both fixing your computer and promising a 3-year warranty.

What documents did you get with that warranty?

If you suspect a scammer, keep a close watch on your credit-card statements, to look for unauthorized charges.

Talk to your bank (or credit-union) that issued the credit-card, and cancel it, and get a new credit-card number.

I googled HP, got to hp customer support-contact. replied tech support for software and initial setup may require a fee after 90 days, was given a case. for issues powering up your computer or accessing your windows desktop call 1-877-852-0905. after talking with someone there and running qick test on hard drive was told it was a software problem given a new case called back talking to MD Ashhar. does any  of this sound right if not someone  is running your website in the ground

You are talking to the support staff and this forum is a user forum with mostly volunteer Experts.  Some support post in here but mostly we are not the same people as the support staff.

I hope the matter you had is corrected to your satisfaction.
