Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have downloaded and run the setup file for starter from a number of available sources. The operating system says it, "The files required to setup Microsoft Office Starter 2010 cannot be loaded. Check your internet connection and then, try again". The popup that tells me to try the recommended settings pops up. That doesn't work either. Help!

Hi there @Franklinthecat,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. I understand that you are having trouble installing Microsoft Office Starter 2010. I am happy to help with this.

A quick suggestion would be to disable your anti-virus software just for the duration of the installation, provided you have already verified the file you have is clean from whatever source you downloaded it from.

If you still get the same sort of error  when trying to install, then I would suggest you Contact Office Support - support.office.com.

Please let me know whether that works for you, and if it does resolve your issue, please mark this post as a solution. Kudos would also be appreciated.

Do I need to hardwire my internet connection instead of using my wifi function?
