I noticed that suddenly the link for the HP "Dashboard" (where it shows tech details, the virtual assistant, and more) has simply vanished. I normally just click Start, and it would be pinned. Now, the icon is gone, and I see nothing in "All Apps" except for "HP Documentation". I Googled for an explanation, and could not find an answer. I also checked every system setting I could think of: task manager, system services, advanced windows settings, etc., and could find no way to re-enable it. Then I downloaded the HP Support Assistant software package, but upon installation, I was told a newer version is already installed.
The only thing that has changed in my system is new RAM (hopefully unrelated, see my issue with that in my other post), and a new Western Digital Black SN850X NVMe drive that I cloned from the stock drive (about a week ago, and I DO recall seeing the HP link in Start afterward).
What happened? What can I do to fix this? Thanks!

Try doing a repair of the HP app
Enter "add or remove" in windows search box and see if you can find your HP support assistant
select "Advanced Option", scroll down and do a repair.
The the app is missing or the repair does not work then just reinstall

if you have (or had) a 2nd monitor then it is possible the icon is missing from the main screen. It might show up if you bring up the display and re-arrange icons: select 'auto" or "grid"
