HP Pavilion 590-p0075na

I got my new desktop from HP in early October. Whenever I ask it to switch tasks, even the simplest thing it loudly has to jolt itself into life, and then proceeds to emit a high-pitched tone sound during the time it is 'active'. This happens even with really basic things, like switching from Chrome to browsing the D drive. I seem to have no way at all of getting in touch with HP proper: Going through the 'Help' section leads me to a phone line, but when I select the 'Technical Support' option from the menu, it directs me to a new menu which has no options for consumers with desktop issues (only printer issues or business clients). In desperation, I selected the business clients option, and the lady gave me what was supposedly the number for tech support, which turned out to be the number that I started with (which offered no suitable options). She apologised and put me directly through to the tech support team, where a very stressed-sounding woman in a very loud office said she would not be able to help me as she was not a member of the tech support team, but took my number and promised that someone would call me back the following day. This was over a week ago, and I have heard nothing. Not really sure what to do anymore. There doesn't seem to be an email address or a helpdesk ticket system, unless I've missed it? The machine does work, it's just annoying, but I guess I can just put up with it for now and replace the machine down the line (obviously not with an HP - it's a shame because I've had them and been completely satisfied for over 10 years now). Really unhappy at this treatment after having spent what is for me a very significant amount of money on a product I need to use for several hours daily.
