I have an LG external monitor connected to the HDMI port of the AllInOne and working GREAT for several years. Have an identical LG monitor and want to also connect it to the AllInOne. in the available second HDMI port. Each monitor works great is either HDMI port SEPARATELY, but they will not work together. Windows does not see the second external monitor in the display settings. all HP updates have been installed (its on automatic, but I checked anyway). Would sure appreciate any ideas!

@Fred_Flint, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP pavilion 27-xa0014!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It sounds like your HP Pavilion All-in-One is not detecting both external monitors simultaneously. Here are a few things to check and try:
Confirm HDMI Output Limitations
- Some All-in-One PCs only support one external display at a time. Check your PC’s specifications on HP’s website to see if it can handle dual external monitors.
- Some models have one HDMI-IN and one HDMI-OUT port. If one is HDMI-IN, it’s meant for input (like from a gaming console) and won’t support an external monitor.
Check Display Settings
- Go to Settings > System > Display and click Detect to see if Windows recognizes the second monitor.
- Try pressing Win + P and selecting Extend or Duplicate.
Try a Different Connection Type
- If your PC supports USB-C with DisplayPort, you can use a USB-C to HDMI adapter for the second monitor.
- If you have DisplayLink support, a USB-to-HDMI adapter could work.
Update Display & Graphics Drivers
- Open Device Manager > Display adapters and update your graphics driver (Intel or AMD/NVIDIA).
- Go to HP support site and download the latest chipset and graphics drivers manually.
Test with Another Cable or Monitor
- Use a different HDMI cable for the second monitor.
- Try connecting the second LG monitor to another device to see if it works properly.
Use a Docking Station or HDMI Splitter
- If your PC only supports one HDMI output, a USB docking station with dual HDMI ports can allow two monitors.
- A powered HDMI splitter (not just a basic Y-cable) may help, but it usually duplicates rather than extends the display.
Check BIOS Settings
- Restart your PC and enter BIOS (press F10 on startup).
- Look for display-related settings that might allow multiple external monitors.
Let me know how it goes!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
