Stuck on a Black Screen? Quick Fixes for Your HP Desktop! Click here for the details.
HP Recommended
Pavilion 570-p023w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am attempting to plug in a DVI monitor as monitor #1 or #2 into my computer via a HMDI port with a DVI to HDMI adaptor plug. Both monitors work. I can see different images on the monitors. I cannot move windows across to the other monitor, I have to go around. The same issue with the mouse. Both monitors are identified as #1. The system cannot detect the other monitor. The Multiple Displays setting is Extend for these monitors.

@AceSurveyor,

Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips! I understand you are having issues with the display not working correctly on your HP Pavilion Desktop PC. Don't worry we'll work together to help you find a solution.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

How are you connecting the other monitor? Is it using VGA

Have you tried to update the display drivers?

In the meantime, let's try these steps here:

Let's try to Uninstall and reinstall the display drivers from Device manager:

Right-Click on start button> click device manager> expand display adapters>then select the display drivers that are listed and right-click on it and uninstall the drivers.

Check the box that states delete the software for this device.

Once done, restart the computer and then update the Bios, Chipset and Graphics card drivers on your PC, using this link.

Could you please respond to this post with the details and with the results of the troubleshooting steps for further assistance.

Eagerly waiting for your response!

I hope you have a good day ahead,

And Feel free to ask your queries as this forum has some of the best people in the world available and ready to help.
