HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1110
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently got a nVidia GeForce GT 730 card for a good price and installed it in my HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1110 Desktop PC. When I booted the computer, there was no output to the display, no beeping, no post. After 10 or so seconds the computer rebooted and then kept rebooting every 5 or so seconds until I pulled te plug. I tried unplugging everything except the video and keyboard, but had the same result.

What is the specific NVIDIA brand and model?  How much installed memory?  See the tag on the card for the model information.

It may be too much video card for your Slimline s5-1110 Desktop PC, considering  that your PC has only a 220W PSU. That is a pretty anemic PSU for a video card upgrade. If you don't resolve the power issue, you may smoke check (fry) your motherboard.

The 2GB  and 4GB variants requires a  300 Watt or greater power supply with a minimum of 20 Amp on the +12 volt rail.

A 440W or greater slim factor PSU upgrade would be a safe bet. A standard ATX format PSU will not physically fit.

It is an EVGA 2GB GDDR5 model GT 730. The HP Slimline s5-1110 Desktop PC is stock configuration otherwise and never messed with, so it likely has the original 220w Power Supply.

I took the card out so the machine can be used with integrated graphics for the time being. I was just hoping for a cheap little upgrade, but I guess these machines require a bit more money to upgrade properly.

Yes.

The slimline PCs are entry level and\or business productivity basic models. That is why upgrading to a video card requires more than just a video card.
