Can anybody tell me how to access/use the video camera on this AIO?
I've searched but can't find it. When I go to device manager, it shows HP True Vision HD camera. On the top of the monitor, there is a slot that comes up if I pull it.
Any help appreciated.

Run that microsoft system file checker. That app should display a message of some type.

1 - enter "camera" in the windows search box. An error message may appear. If so, click "Get Help". If there is no "Get Help" then read this article.
|
2 - Look at the keyboard function keys for a camera icon such as
|
if you see anything like that the press it and see if the camera starts working. It could also be a physical device such as a switch or a cover that closes over the lens. Some AIOs have an On Screen Display and that might have camera control for on/off. I do not have your particular system so am guessing.
HP detailed resources
3 - Try a repair of windows system files. From the administrator command command prompt enter as explained below
sfc /scannow |
How to use SFC or DISM to repair Windows
just do the SFC. If you see a message that corrupted files were fixed then reboot. The only time to do the DISM is if the SFC reports it found problems but cannot repair it.

Thank you for your response.
I went to Settings, Privacy & Security, and camera. My Z Flip 3 was listed and I scrolled down and selected the one installed.
Now, I find no link to that camera and whenever I type camera in the search box what opens is my Pictures folder. No camera comes up and the slot on top of the monitor doesn't rise.
If I type camera the file location, the same thing - pictures folder opens.
Still don't know how to get the installed camera to open.
If I click on the Windows logo, then all apps, there is an app for camera. When I click on it, nothing happens.

You need to select the HD True Vision camera in that camera pull down list. Is the camera listed? Can you selected it?
If you select your android camera it has to be online and either connected via USB, wifi, or Bluetooth to your PC.
Does he when does device manager show a problem with the HP camera?

Thank you BeemerBiker.
Yes, I scrolled down and selected HQ True Vision HD camera. Hasn't changed a thing.
I still do not know how to access/use that camera because there is no link that I can find anywhere. It doesn't even show it's file when I access my computer and Files
I'm about to give up on accessing it. I don't see it listed anywhere except in Device Manager and in Windows apps. Clicking on any of them does nothing. Clicking on Windows and Program Files, Program files (86) does not show it there either.

My android tablet camera shows up on windows 11 with that Link-To-PC app. It is either wifi or bluetooth linkage.
Your webcam is built in. There is only a driver to install. if the driver is missing the device manager will not show a camera unless you turn on hidden devices..
What happens when you enter CAMERA into the windows search area and press the enter key?

This is what happens. If I click on either one, it opens my photos file, not the camera
Here is what comes up when I right click on the camera listing
I just want to know what I have to do to be able to use it.

You're missing the camera app. In the windows store, install the windows camera

Apparently that is not the solution. I downloaded it from Microsoft store and it is installed. Click on it and nothing happens.
I'm worn out and fed up with this AIO. Wish I had never purchased it.
Thanks for your interest.
