HP 27er monitor
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP 27er monitor. I would like to know if it has sound capability. My computer keeps insisting that it does: when I open Control Panel/Sound/Playback, HP 27er is the default sound system, not just an option.

Hi:

According to the specs it doesn't.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-value-27-inch-displays/3989902/model/10402872/document/c0507...

If you have it connected with a HDMI cable, the PC assumes that it has audio, like a TV.

You will have to go into the windows control panel>hardware and sound>sound>manage audio devices and select the PC speakers as the default playback option.
