Hi @Superdave602,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding extending your display on your HP Pavilion 31.5-inch All-in-One Desktop PC!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check Connections: Ensure that the monitor you want to extend to is properly connected to your All-in-One via HDMI or any other compatible connection port. Double-check that all cables are securely plugged in.

Display Settings: Go to your Windows display settings by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting "Display settings." Make sure your second monitor is detected. Use “Detect” to try to recognize the second monitor.

Windows Updates: Ensure your system is up to date with the latest Windows updates. Sometimes updates include fixes for hardware recognition problems.

Graphics Driver: Update your graphics drivers. You can do this by accessing Device Manager, finding your display adapter, and choosing "Update Driver." You can also check HP's official site for specific drivers for your model.

Resolution Settings: Make sure that the resolution settings on both your monitors are compatible or supported by your hardware.

HP Support Assistant: Utilize HP’s Support Assistant software to check for any system updates that may improve functionality or provide additional troubleshooting options.

Restart Both Devices: Sometimes a simple restart of your PC and the monitor can solve connectivity issues.

Check Monitor Settings: Verify the input settings on your second monitor to ensure it’s set to receive input from the correct source.

I hope this helps.
