Typlo please clarify what you fixed. Many people on this post have fixed the hdmi video but no one has said their hdmi audio is working. if you've fixed the audio please specify the my display software you're using.

ARGH!!!! The computer auto-updated to Win 10 overnight... no audio. This is NUTS. Luckily I saved a backup image a few months ago and can reimage, but seriously, NO SOLUTIONS yet??
No audio via HDMI in. Video looks great. Makes the computer useless as a kitchen PC/TV.

So followed instructions - went to http://www.portrait.com/dtune/hpo/enu/supportedhardware.html ... uninstalled oldapp... installed new app ... same old problem, no audio on HDMI.
What is the holdup ???!!!! Fix the #@(#@ drivers people.

1. Did you upgrade with the Microsoft auto win10 process?
2. Did you install the video driver linked (nvidia or Intel?)?
Any further info would be greatly appreciated- I don't want to waste 2 hours again 🙂

Yup, as I expected, another wasted 2 hours. Nothing here so far makes audio come in from HDMI.
As a customer - I'm angry. As an HP employee - I'm even more angry and embarassed.
I'm also about ready to go out and buy a Dell.
This is infuriating.

Just to clarify things
I installed hp support assistant and checked for updates
updated nvidea and intel graphics and sound drivers
I currently have Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 + NVIDIA GeForce 830A graphics and HD audio with realtek driver installed.
the thing that actually made it work though was HP My Display Touchsmart Edition.

Note: I also had an issue with the sound but all I did was go back to my original display and turn on beats audio and unplug/plug my speakers in and it worked.
hope this helps as its all I can give.
VIDEO and AUDIO working through HDMI
04-21-2016 02:14 PM
please clarify what you mean by audio working. the problem people are having is with audio coming from an external source. eg. if you have your xbox hdmi connected to the hdmi input there's no audio. beats audio working doesn't mean audio from hdmi input is working.
