I have a HP 24mh 23.8-inch Display Product 1d0J9AA that is just over a year old. A black shadow appeared in the lower left corner. I have rebooted, checked connections, replaced the HDMI cord with a brand new one and still have the black shadow. I also attached my laptop to another monitor and the problem disappears.
Is there a solution or do I need a replacement monitor?

Hi @Brett9261,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you've tried multiple troubleshooting steps and the issue persists only on the HP 24mh display, it's possible that there could be a hardware problem with the display itself. Here are a few additional steps you can take to try to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue.
- Check for Physical Damage: Inspect the display closely for any signs of physical damage, such as cracks or dents, especially in the area where the black shadow appears. Physical damage could indicate a problem with the display panel itself.
- Update Display Drivers: Make sure that your computer's graphics drivers are up-to-date. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause display issues. Visit the website of your graphics card manufacturer (e.g., NVIDIA, AMD, Intel) to download and install the latest drivers.
- Factory Reset: Some displays have a factory reset option in the settings menu. You can try performing a factory reset to see if it resolves the issue. Keep in mind that this will reset all settings to their default values, so you may need to readjust settings afterward.
Since you've already tested your laptop with another monitor and the problem doesn't occur, it's likely that the issue is specific to the HP 24mh display itself. Follow the steps above to further diagnose and address the problem.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
