Hi Guys,

I'm just trying to get this monitor set up for my wife as an external monitor to a MacBook Pro and it's not displaying at the Optimal Resolution of 2560x1440. It's only allowing a max of 1920 x 1200. I'm connecting from the Thunderbolt port using a mini display to HMDI adaptor. I've tried this using two different Macbook Pros and the same low resolution thing happens. And yet I have an Acer monitor connected in the same way that displays at the full resolution of 2560x1440.

Any ideas?

Many thanks in advance.

Mike

Just a quick follow up for those who might be interested. I replaced the MiniDisplayPort -> HDMI cable with a newer one and lo-and-behold the higher resolution  became available.

So, not all cables are the same, even if they look like they should be 🙂

Good to get this working.

All the best,

Mike
