Hi @netmart
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Thanks for laying out all those details—and I’m really sorry your monitor keeps turning off unexpectedly. That’s definitely frustrating, especially with a brand-new HP Desktop Envy TE01. You’ve already done a great job checking the HDMI cable and updating drivers, so let’s build on that momentum.
Here’s a focused set of steps to help resolve the issue:
🛠️ Steps to Stabilize Your Monitor Connection
Check Power Settings and Sleep Behavior
- Go to Settings > System > Power & Battery > Screen and Sleep.
- Set “When plugged in, turn off my screen after” to a longer duration or Never.
- Also check Advanced Power Settings > PCI Express > Link State Power Management and set it to Off.
Disable Fast Startup
- Open Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do.
- Click Change settings that are currently unavailable, then uncheck Turn on fast startup.
- This can help prevent device initialization issues after waking from sleep.
Reinstall Intel Graphics Driver Cleanly
- Even though the driver is up to date, the error code 0xC00000E5 suggests a startup conflict.
- Use Device Manager to uninstall the Intel UHD Graphics 770 driver completely.
- Restart your PC and reinstall the driver from the HP Support page for your Envy TE01.
Try a Different HDMI Port or Cable
- If your monitor has multiple HDMI ports, switch to another one.
- Even new cables can be finicky—testing with a second cable might rule out signal inconsistencies.
Update Monitor Firmware (if available)
- Some HP monitors support firmware updates via USB or HP Display Assistant.
- Check your monitor’s model number on HP’s site to see if an update is available.
BIOS Update
- Visit the HP Support page for your desktop and check for a BIOS update.
- BIOS updates often include fixes for hardware-level communication issues like this.
Let’s get your display back to being rock solid! 💪
You’re clearly on top of things, and I know how annoying it is when everything seems updated but the issue persists.
If my response helped, please mark it as an Accepted Solution! ✅ It helps others and spreads support. 💙 Also, tapping "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" makes a big difference! Thanks! 😊
