I currently own 2 HP Omen 27i monitors and have noticed a difference in behavior with the ambient lighting when the monitors go to sleep. On one of the monitors the ambient lighting stays on all the time (24/7) and on the other the lighting turns itself off when the monitor goes into sleep mode and comes back on when woken back up (ideal behavior). I've gone through every menu option available on both monitors at the same time and have them configured identically. The only difference I can find between the 2 devices is that the monitor where the light stays on all the time is running an older firmware version.
I've attempted to locate a firmware update file on HP's support site and I cannot find anything for Windows 11 x64 beyond HP support assistant. I've installed the latest version of support assistant and it was unable to locate either of the monitors. I was able to resolve this buy installing the windows 10 driver version 1.0.0. revA on my PC (I'm unable to locate any Windows 11 specific drivers). The monitors now appear correctly in device manager (i.e. not using the plug and play driver) and after this are now available in HP support assistant. Unfortunately, support assistant does not find any driver or firmware updates available for either monitor.
I have also installed Omen Gaming Hub and while it sees the displays are attached and I can control them, there is no option to update the firmware and I cannot find a setting that controls the ambient lighting behavior in sleep mode.
Additional information:
I have tried connecting the monitors with DisplayPort cables and HDMI cables, there is no difference in behavior.
Both monitors are connected to the PC with a high quality USB 3.0 device cable.
I have tried only having one monitor at a time connected.
What am I missing here? Is there a way to update the firmware on these monitors so that they have the same behaviors? Ideally, I would like the ambient lighting of both monitors to turn off (newer firmware behavior) when the monitors enter sleep mode. Thank you in advance for your attention.

@TOC-Video, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Omen 27i Firmware Update Process!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
To update the firmware of your HP Omen 27i monitors and resolve the difference in ambient lighting behavior, follow these steps:
Step 1: Download the Latest Firmware
- Go to the HP Support website: HP Support.
- Select Software and Drivers.
- Enter your HP Omen 27i monitor model in the search field and follow the on-screen instructions to locate the latest firmware update.
Step 2: Prepare Your Monitor for the Update
- Ensure both monitors are connected to your computer and powered on.
- Make sure your monitor's OSD (On-Screen Display) settings are set up correctly. This might include enabling features that facilitate the firmware update.
Step 3: Update the Firmware
- Save the firmware update file to your computer from the HP Support website.
- Run the firmware update application as per the downloaded instructions.
- Follow the on-screen instructions carefully to complete the update process for each monitor.
- Typically, this involves selecting the monitor to update, starting the firmware update, and waiting for the update to complete (do not turn off the monitor or computer during the update).
Step 4: Verify the Update
- Restart your computer and monitors if required.
- Check the monitor settings again to ensure that the update was successful and the ambient lighting behavior is consistent on both monitors.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!

Zoey7886 thank you for your reply, however, part of my issue is that I am unable to locate any firmware update files on the HP support site for the Omen 27i monitor.
Unfortunately, the site makes you select a particular operating system and operating system version before it shows you what downloads are available. Almost all of the Windows 11 versions ONLY have a download for the HP support assistant software. The windows 10 versions also have the HP support assistant software with some having a link to the Windows driver 1.00 Rev.A
Could you please direct me on where exactly to locate this firmware update file?
