Pavilion 15z-cw0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Hp pavilion 15z cw0xxx laptop has been touching intermittently at one point on the lower bottom left of the screen and it keeps pressing all by itself and i also notice some faded lines drawn across the bottom of the screen. I got this laptop from the store.hp.com united states one year ago and it has never dropped. some days ago i noticed the lines on the bottom screen as they were really faded lines and then the touch screen starts to misbehave. Below is an image showing the faded lines across the bottom of the screen just right above the taskbar.image showing the faded lines across the bottom of the screenimage showing the faded lines across the bottom of the screen

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

  • When was the last time it worked without these issues?
  • Have you updated Graphics and Chipset drivers?
  • Have you checked the display on an external monitor?

let’s try these steps to resolve the problem:

I recommend you attempt to access the BIOS screen by tapping on F10 while the computer is restarting,

If the issue persists in the BIOS screen which is outside windows, it would confirm a hardware failure.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hello Echo_Lake,

The lines are still there and the touch screen misbehaves intermittently by acting on its own. And yes i rebooted into bios mode and i can still see the vertical faded lines below the screen just right above the taskbar and its drawn from left to right of the screen at the bottom . Below is an image representation of the lines.tb1Untitled-1@4x.png

This is the hardware related issue with the display. As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now.

I would request you to contact our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to sort this out. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:  www.hp.com/contacthp/

Hello Echo_Lake,

The system never had a drop down or anything impact fall, what could have caused the lines to appear and then the touch screen starts to misbehave? Like what could have prompted the issue? as i bought this system new direct from hp store online in united states then after a year later this issue came up.

To get the answer to this question, in several condition display could wear off however it's not necessary that has to be an accidental drop.
