HP VH240a Display
macOS 12.0 Monterey

My VH240a has started to emit a mid-low volume high pitched noise from the back of the monitor. Nothing has changed with my set-up, have been using it successfully for about 1.5yrs. I'm unable to get in touch with anyone at HP. Has anyone been able to resolve this issue?

@drjmacq,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

What you are experiencing is not unique -what you are experiencing is a form of "coil whine". A number of Users have submitted this issue over the years.

Based on what I found online that helped some users fix your problem, try the following:

1.) Change your monitor's response time setting to “Standard” -if you have that option.

2.) If this doesn't work, turn on Energy saver mode to “high”  -if you have that option.

3.) If this doesn't work, change your monitor's Audio setting to 0 (zero) or turn it off altogether, if applicable.

4.) If this doesn't work, see if adjusting your brightness down solves your issue.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,
