I am having the same issue but there is nothing in the Device Manager that says Touch Screen.  Under Human Interface Devices I have:

"Bluetooth Remote Control"

"HID-compliant consumer control device"  I have 3 of these

"HID-compliant device"  I have 11 of these

"ITE Infrared Transceiver"

"Microsoft eHome Infrared Transceiver"

"Microsoft Input Configuration Device"

"USB Input Device"  I have 7 of these

Should I disable all 14 of the HID-compliant drivers???

HELP!!!

Greetings!

Welcome to the HP Community. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries. I have reviewed your post and I understand, you are trying to disable the touchscreen.

Don't worry, I'm here to help!

We need to select the "HID-compliant device" from the list.

Let's try these steps -

1) Press Win + R keys at the same time, type in “devmgmt.msc“, and hit OK.

2) On Device Manager window, find and expand Human Interface Devices category (by double-clicking on the item or clicking on the arrow next to it). Under this category, find HID-compliant touch screen.

3) Right click on HID-compliant touch screen. On the context menu showing up, select Disable device. There will be a window popping up asking you to confirm your action, and you should click Yes.

Let me know how that goes.

@jaymelanie

Thanks for getting back to us.

Please disable the "HID-Compliant Device". You might have to do this for all the entries.

Let me know.

Hi,

I had previously disabled all of the "HID-compliant devices" and the touchscreen had stopped working and my problem was solved.  But just recently it started doing it again.  How do I disable the touchscreen again????  I've attached a picture so you can see what I'm talking about.Device ManagerDevice Manager
