Power Cycle:
- Unplug the monitor and the computer from the power source.
- Wait for a few minutes and then plug them back in. Turn on the monitor first, followed by the computer.
Correct Input Source:
- Ensure the monitor is set to the correct input source. On most monitors, there's an 'Input' or 'Source' button. Press it and select the appropriate HDMI input.
Test Multiple HDMI Ports:
- If your monitor has multiple HDMI ports, try connecting your cable to a different port.
Test the HDMI Port:
- Try connecting a different device (like a gaming console or Blu-ray player) to the monitor using the HDMI cable. If it works, the issue might be with your computer's HDMI port.
Graphics Driver:
- Sometimes, outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can cause issues. Ensure that you have the latest drivers installed for your graphics card. Visit the graphics card manufacturer's website (NVIDIA, AMD, Intel) to download and install the latest drivers.
Display Settings:
- On your computer, right-click on the desktop and select 'Display settings' (for Windows). Make sure the display is detected. If not, click on 'Detect'. Adjust the resolution settings if needed.
HDMI Cable:
- Even though you replaced the HDMI cable, there's still a small chance that the new one might also be faulty. If you have another HDMI cable, give it a try or test the current one on a different device.
Test the Computer:
- Connect your computer to a different monitor using the HDMI cable. If it doesn't work, the issue might be with the computer's HDMI output.
Reset the Monitor:
- Some monitors have a reset or factory default option in their on-screen menu. Navigate through the monitor’s menu and look for a reset or default option.
Firmware Update:
- Some monitors might have firmware updates available. Visit HP's official website, search for your monitor's model, and check if there are any firmware updates available. Follow the instructions provided by HP to apply the update.
External Adapters:
- If you're using any adapters or converters (like HDMI to VGA or DisplayPort to HDMI), ensure they are working properly by testing them with another setup or replacing them.
Hardware Issue:
- If none of the above solutions work, it's possible there's a hardware issue with the monitor's HDMI port. In this case, you might need to contact HP support or take the monitor to a certified repair center
